can help tbi, LLC provides children and teenagers with
ideas, suggestions, and tips on how to fit-in with friends, get along
with classmates, and interact with parents. Children and teenagers who
have sustained a traumatic brain injury must simultaneously manage human
lifespan development and the residual effects of traumatic brain
injury.
Children become empowered with self-acceptance through
the development of a positive self-image with support from friends,
family, teachers, and other community members. This can be difficult
when physical scarring, such as cranio-facial defects are present, or
when emotional and psychological damage is present, yet unseen. Kids
want so much to be different, and at the same time, treated the same as
everyone else.
